Dr. Shahin Sirouspour is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at McMaster University. In the past few years, he has received funding for his research through the NSERC Discovery program, Ontario Centers of Excellence/Health Technology Exchange Business Partnership Program, and Ontario Centers of Excellence Research Partnership Program. Dr. Sirouspour’s main research interests are in robotics and control systems. He and his team made major contributions to the field of haptics and telerobotics. They have developed advanced controllers to overcome barriers of communication delay and dynamic uncertainty in achieving high performance and robust stability. They have proposed a general formulation of teleoperation control problem that covers a wide range of system configurations from single-operator/single-robot systems to multiple-operator/multi-robot systems, bringing together human-in-the-loop and autonomous control of robotic systems. His research is applied in the development of modern systems for various vehicular and robotic applications.
