Short Biography

Nicola-Nicolici_1_200x250Dr. Nicola Nicolici is a Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at McMaster University and the founder of the Design and Test Laboratory with funding from Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI). He received two major international awards: the James Beausang Award at the IEEE International Test Conference (ITC) in 2000 and the Best Paper Award at the IEEE/ACM Design Automation and Test in Europe (DATE) in 2004. At the national level, his research was also recognized with the Best Poster Award at the Micronet Workshop in 2002. In 2005, he received the Early Researcher Award (ERA) from the Government of Ontario. Dr. Nicolici currently serves on the editorial boards of the IET Proceedings – Computers and Digital Techniques (IET-CDT), Journal of Electronic Testing: Theory and Applications (JETTA), Integration, the VLSI Journal and IEEE Design & Test of Computers (IEEE D&T), Low Power test (JETTA) and FPGA-based Acceleration of Scientific Computing. Dr. Nicolici has served extensively on the technical program and executive committees of the major IEEE conferences, in leading roles such as the topic chair for the national and international awards such as the Douglas R. Colton Medal for Research Excellence by CMC Microsystems in 2010 and the European Design and Automation Association (EDAA) Outstanding Dissertation Award for new directions in circuit and system test in 2010.
